Tour 2: Wildrose Yodel
Club
Okanagan
Concert Tour
October 4 - 7, 2002
Day 1: Canmore - Revelstoke - Vernon
Departing
Red Deer at 7:00 am with a luxury tour
coach we are heading to
Banff to enjoy a brunch at the
Ticino
Swiss-Italian Restaurant. The journey will take us west through the
Rogers Pass to the next stop at the
Three Valley Gap Resort near
Revelstoke for some
refreshments. Now we are entering the beautiful
Okanagan
Valley where we
find accommodation at the 41/2 star
Prestige Inn in
Vernon. The
Wildrose
Yodlers will entertain the dinner guest at this hotel's own
Avonlea restaurant.
Day 2: Kelowna
Today is the day of
wine
tasting!
We start with an interesting tour through the
vineyards at the
Gray Monk Estate Winery. This is the busiest time of the year at this winery and the
Wildrose Yodlers
will entertain their guests at the lunch setting.
As guests at the St. Hubertus Estate Winery we taste the wine and enjoy an afternoon
of fun and singing under the roof of a tent in the vineyard.
Our hotel is the 41/2 Star
Prestige Inn in downtown
Kelowna.
This is the time of the Wine Festival in
Kelowna.
At dinner time we will be enjoying fine European Cuisine in the picturesque
Swiss
Italia Restaurant, a beautiful setting for giving our next concert.
We anticipate that the audience will include many members of the local
Swiss community and their friends.
Day 3: Naramata - Grand Forks - Castlegar
A short scenic drive from
Penticton brings us to
Naramata, which is nestled in along the eastern shores and hills of
Okanagan Lake. This is where we get to taste the wine of the
South
Okanagan with a lunch at the
Red
Rooster Winery. Here we sing a few songs for the enjoyment of our hosts and their guests.
We continue our trip early in the afternoon passing
through the orchards of
Osoyoos, then traveling parallel to the US
border as far as
Grand
Forks. After a coffee stop we continue on to
Castlegar
to find accommodation at the
Sandman Inn.
Day 4: Cranbrook - Fernie - Longview - Red Deer
Heading east on the picturesque
Highway # 3, we stop in
Cranbrook for refreshments and continue on
to
Fernie for lunch.
Along the way we see the
world's largest truck and the disaster site of the
Frank
Slide. Just east of the
Crowsnest
Pass we head north on Highway # 22. This wild romantic stretch of
road will take us to the last dinner of the tour at the Black Cat
restaurant in
Longview.
This evening we return to
Red Deer with memories of the most beautiful places and the best wines of Western Canada! |
